We have a number of services in Bundaberg and Toowoomba that can be provided on the weekend and after hours, including, in-home respite, residential support care, emergency respite and supported independent living. In-home respite

In-home disability respite covers a carer’s duties in the home, taking care of a Participant’s day-to-day needs. Community Access Care’s in-home respite service is available to carers who need a few hours during the day to themselves while those they care for remain in the care of experienced respite staff. It could also cover an overnight stay.

Residential support care 

Short-term accommodation, such as that provided by Community Access Care, offers Participants the chance to have a small holiday away from home under the care of highly trained and experienced staff while allowing carers and family to take a break and recharge.

Emergency respite

Emergency respite provides support to disability carers in the event that they experience an urgent situation that inhibits their ability to care for those they care for in the manner required. This may include circumstances where there is a threat to the health and safety of the carer or the person being cared for that requires immediate intervention.

Supported independent living

Supported independent living (SIL) services work with Participants and their families to achieve greater autonomy and develop a sense of self-determination in their daily lives. SIL arrangements provide peace of mind to those in need of added support and their loved ones that their needs will be met in a caring and supportive environment.

Community Access Care takes a family-oriented approach to supported independent living. We focus on developing essential life skills and building the confidence of the people we work with to empower them to make informed decisions about their lives, as well as maintain a strong connection with the community.
