1. Bargara Beach – Bundaberg

Bagara Beach is the place to go to soak up that salty air and sunshine! It’s located 15km east of the Bundaberg town centre and is backed by a beachfront road, with great parks, amenities and ample parking. While the sand isn’t accessible, the coastal pathways at Bargara are perfect for wheelchairs. Spend your day making your way along Bargara’s coastal pathways which hug the coastline, providing stunning views at every point.

2. Swim at Norville Pool – Bundaberg 

Bundaberg has excellent options for the aquatically inclined with the Norville Park swimming pool and the ANZAC Park swimming pool. You can relax with some light refreshments or enjoy a barbecue. The pools themselves are serviced by a disabled access lift chair to provide for all abilities.

3. Park Trails – Toowoomba 

Toowoomba regional council, in collaboration with TrailScapes, has opened a nature trail that includes signage in braille that provides information about the area and its history, accessible amenities and outlook platforms. 

Ultimately, the project will extend across a number of areas such as Picnicpoint Parklands, Glen Lomond Parks and Tabletop Bushland Reserve. This trail provides stunning views of the Great Dividing Range and a wonderful sensory experience. 

4. Horse Riding – Toowoomba 

The Toowoomba Horse Riding for the Disabled Association is a registered charity that offers people living with a disability an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of horse riding.

The charity has a team of volunteers that work to ensure that each participant has their individual needs met, and can engage in the program safely while enjoying their time with a highly rewarding experience.  

Safe to say, Bundaberg and Toowoomba has plenty to offer to anyone and everyone these school holidays!  Community Access Care has a dedicated School Holiday Program that runs from Monday – Friday and offers a range of activities from local excursions, fishing, arts and craft and bowling.
